I've been riding for a little while know and the amount of progress I've made has been amazing. I feel better and better every time I get on the bike and should be back to 100% here shortly. I have been working hard in the gym and have been riding as much as possible to get ready for the upcoming year. I can't thank my trainer Brian Davis in the gym and Pat McMullen at McMullen School of Motocross enough for helping me to get back on the bike and to be feeling as well as I do.
Aside from training and practicing, I got to race and get behind a gate again this past weekend for the first round of the AMX State Championship series at Canyon Motocross Park. I was finally able to move up to the pro class after coming back form my injury, and it feels great to be up there and racing again. The day of racing started out awesome for me in practice, and I felt really comfortable on the track and on my bikes. First motos went decent for me; I struggled with starts the first couple motos and both times started just inside of the top five. I was able to work my way to the front both times tho and ended up getting first in both classes for the first motos. Going into the second motos I really tried to focus on the start. I made a couple changes and they seemed to work out well for me as I came out with both holeshots in the 250 and 450 class. I was able to lead both second motos from start to finish and just ride my own race. Overall the weekend couldn't have gone much better; I am just stoked to be able to line up behind a starting gate again and do what I love most. I can't thank everyone and all my sponsors enough for sticking behind me through the long time I was off, and I look forward to many more great races in 2012.
See everyone at the races,
Austin Burns #141
