This weekend we were in Denver, Colorado for the second round of the outdoors at Thunder Valley MX. The track was awesome up here, it had some huge jumps and was by far one of the roughest tracks I've ridden.
Practice didn't start out too well in first practice, as the track was super deep and I lacked a little bit of intensity. I was only a click off of qualifying time and knew I needed to put it together second practice. I was able to put it together and get into the mains by qualifying 36th out of practice and merely avoiding the LCQ.
The first moto started out good with a good start and I was running just outside the top ten. I got shuffled around a few spots the first lap and was running 16th for a few laps before getting passed by a few guys. I felt good, I was just super tight. Right about half way I had some issues and ended up falling back before finishing the moto in 33rd.
I was looking forward to riding better and getting up inside the top 20 like I should be in the second moto. My start was not as good in the second moto, and I got pushed wide in the first turn and ended up going down. I got back up and started going. I was riding good before I had another crash in a turn which sent me super far back in the pack. I ended up finishing the moto in 31st which gave me 34th overall.
Overall the weekend wasn't the greatest, but considering this is by far the most stacked the 450 class has been in years, I just have to keep progressing and moving forward.
On to the next one!
